Laminated Leaf Springs
Leaf springs as a form of suspension will deform to absorb the shocks of the road surface. Depending on the vehicle suspension specifications, leaf springs may be laminated or multi-leaf, i.e. having more than one leaves clamped together or mono-leaf having a single leaf..
Parabolic Leaf Springs
The difference between parabolic and conventional leaf springs is because of the different clamping leaf, but most importantly because of the varying cross-section of the parabolic leaves. This design allows each parabolic leaf to behave as a mono-leaf spring, resulting in a leaf spring of optimized performance.
